Termite Inspections Sydney
A thorough timber pest inspection carried out to Australian Standard AS 3660.
What the treatment includes
Termites can work through the structural timber of a Sydney home for years before there is any visible sign. An annual inspection is the cheapest insurance you can buy against a repair bill that often runs into tens of thousands of dollars. My inspections cover the interior, roof void, subfloor, exterior and garden, and I use moisture meters and movement detection to check areas that cannot be opened up.
What the inspection covers
I assess the full property for evidence of termite activity, past damage, and the conditions that attract termites in the first place. That includes drainage, moisture, timber in contact with soil, and gaps in existing barriers. You receive a detailed written report with photos and clear recommendations.
Warning signs between inspections
- Mud tubing on brick, piers or foundations
- Timber that sounds hollow when tapped
- Rippled or blistering paint on skirting and architraves
- Doors or windows that suddenly stick
- Swarms of flying termites on warm, humid evenings
What to expect on the day
An inspection of an average home takes around one to two hours depending on access. I will need entry to the roof cavity and subfloor where safe to do so. Afterwards I talk you through what I found before the written report lands in your inbox.
How often should you inspect
Australian Standard AS 3660 recommends a competent inspection at least every twelve months. Homes near bushland, on reactive clay soils, or with a past history of termites should be checked more often.
