What the treatment includes
Fleas take hold quickly in Sydney’s warm months, and because most of an infestation is eggs and larvae hidden in carpet and bedding, treating the pets alone is rarely enough. I treat the whole environment with a product that targets adults and growth stages, timed to catch newly hatched fleas before they breed.
Signs of fleas
- Pets scratching more than usual
- Small dark insects in carpet and pet bedding
- Bites around ankles and lower legs
- Flea dirt, which looks like ground pepper, on pet fur
What to expect
I treat carpets, floors, pet resting areas and the yard where needed. Vacuuming beforehand and keeping up with your pet’s flea treatment gives the best result. A follow up treatment is sometimes needed to catch the next hatch.
